Ukraine drawing nearer to visa-free regime with South Korea

Ukraine enters a final round of talks on mutual recognition of documents and visa-free regime with South Korea.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov posted this on his Facebook page.

"Do we need the visa-free regime with the 11th world economy? The question is rhetorical! I am very glad that we have managed to come close to an agreement on this issue," he wrote.

The minister stressed that the delegation of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine had discussed a package of key issues of cooperation during a short visit to Seoul.

"We met with the Interior Minister, the Police Commissioner General, the head of the Presidential Council and completed our work to end the negotiations on the package of mutual recognition of identity documents of citizens, driving licenses and visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens!" he added.

Avakov highlighted "high motivation and interest of the Korean side in cooperation with Ukraine", in particular in the industrial and technical sphere, space programs, infrastructure and agricultural projects.
