Ukrainian ambassador calls visit of German politicians to Crimea ‘irresponsible’

The visit of a group of German lawmakers to the annexed Crimea is an irresponsible step and will entail legal consequences for them.

Ukrainian ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk wrote this on Twitter.

"The irresponsible voyage of several politicians from the Alternative for Germany Party of a local scale to the illegally occupied Crimea can entail very deplorable legal consequences for these no-good lawmakers. It's a pity that our warnings are still not taken seriously," Melnyk wrote.

Earlier, Radio Liberty reported that the German parliamentarians from the right-wing Alternative for Germany Party from the three regional parliaments of the country had arrived in the annexed Crimea on February 3.

According to Russian media, German MPs will stay on the peninsula until February 9.
