U.S. Ambassador calls on Ukraine to move forward in establishment of Anti-Corruption Court

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch has stated that Ukraine needs to move forward in the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Court.

She said this in an interview with The Right to Power program, the Ukrayinska Pravda online newspaper reports.

"I insist on the need to move forward in the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Court. Poroshenko's bill has been already registered in the Verkhovna Rada. Now it is necessary to put it on the agenda and take into account the recommendations of the Venice Commission," Yovanovitch stressed.

The Ambassador also assured that the United States would continue to support Ukraine.

"We have very strong bilateral relations, especially with regard to the security of Ukraine," she said.

As reported, a number of international partners of Ukraine put forward tough demands to Kyiv regarding the draft law on the Anti-Corruption Court.

In addition, the main conditions for the completion of the fourth revision of the International Monetary Fund's EFF program for Ukraine is the adoption of the law on the Anti-Corruption Court, fulfillment of obligations to bring gas prices up to market levels and to control inflation.
