Estonian PM thanks Poroshenko for helping exclude country from list of offshore zones

Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas has thanked Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during a phone conversation for helping resolve the issue of excluding his country from the list of so-called tax havens, the presidential press service has reported.

"The president of Ukraine and the prime minister of Estonia discussed topical issues regarding the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The head of the Estonian government recalled a conversation with the Ukrainian president in Davos and thanked Petro Poroshenko for personal assistance in the speedy resolution of the issue on Estonia's exclusion from the list of offshore zones," reads the statement.

The press service reported that the head of state had thanked Estonia for consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and assistance in counteracting Russian aggression.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said at a government meeting on January 31 that the Cabinet of Ministers had excluded Estonia, Latvia, Georgia, Malta and Hungary from the list of "offshore" countries.
