Ukraine counts on further support of the Netherlands for sanctions against Russia – Poroshenko

Ukraine counts on further Dutch assistance for the policy of sanctions against Russia until the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state is fully restored.

President Petro Poroshenko said this during a meeting with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte in Davos, the press service of the Head of State reported.

"Poroshenko emphasized that he counted on the further Dutch assistance for the policy of sanctions against Russia until full restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also expressed hope for the close cooperation in the UN, particularly in the context of the non-permanent membership of the Netherlands in the UN Security Council in 2018," the report says.

The parties noted the intensification of bilateral economic relations and stated that the implementation of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement had already yielded positive results for both the Ukrainian and Dutch business.

The Head of State thanked the Dutch PM for the political solidarity and practical assistance to Ukraine in countering the Russian aggression.

The parties coordinated efforts aimed to punish the perpetrators of the MH17 tragedy.

The President invited the Prime Minister of the Netherlands to visit Ukraine.
