Poroshenko signs law on permits for Ukrainian broadcasting in ATO zone

President Petro Poroshenko has signed the law that simplifies the procedure of issuing permits for temporary television and radio broadcasting in the ATO zone and bordering districts, the president’s press service reports.

“President Petro Poroshenko signed the Law of Ukraine on amendments to certain laws of Ukraine on temporary permits for broadcasting in the anti-terrorist operation zone and bordering districts of Ukraine," reads the report.

The Presidential Administration noted that the law is aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted broadcasting of television and radio organizations and the broadcasting of their programs for the population through the introduction of a simplified procedure of issuing temporary permits for broadcasting in the areas most vulnerable to external negative information impact, as well as defining special conditions for the transition from analog to digital broadcasting in certain administrative and territorial units.
