President instructs to work on release of all hostages in Donbas and in Russia – Gerashchenko

President Petro Poroshenko has instructed to work on the release of all hostages held in the temporarily occupied territories and in the Russian Federation.

Ukraine’s representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) Iryna Gerashchenko reported this on her Facebook page on Monday.

"I have just had a talk with President Petro Poroshenko. He notes that the Ukrainian side is ready for the release and it has done everything to unblock the process of liberation. We tried to do this even earlier, and we are happy that the other party finally gave the go-ahead. The President also instructs to continue to work on the release of all those who remain in prisons in the occupied territories and in the Russian Federation," she noted.

Gerashchenko has confirmed that the exchange of hostages under '306 for 74′ formula will take place on December 27, 2017.

According to her, the Ukrainian side was ready for the release a few days ago - the SBU, the PGO and the Minsk Group did everything for this.

"Finally, all problematic issues that postponed the process of liberation have been removed," Gerashchenko summed up.
