Foreign Minister Klimkin to visit New York on December 14-16

Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin will pay an official visit to New York on December 14-16, the ministry’s press service reports.

“Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin will take part in a UN Security Council’s ministerial-level briefing on the threat posed by the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in the contest of the situation in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea,” reads a report.

The meeting will be chaired by Japan's Foreign Minister Taro Kono, as this country holds the council's rotating presidency in December 2017.

Also, Foreign Minister Klimkin will meet with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, as well as other high-ranking officials to promote a draft resolution of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly on the human rights situation in Crimea.
