Ukraine, EU to discuss implementation of association agreement on Friday

Ukraine and the European Union are going to sum up the implementation of the Association Agreement.

This issue will be the main one on the agenda of the EU-Ukraine Association Council meeting to be held in Brussels on December 8, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The EU-Ukraine Association Council will discuss the progress of the EU-Ukraine bilateral relations within the framework of the Eastern Partnership and the European Neighborhood Policy. The Council will also sum up the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement," the Council of the European Union reports.

The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.

The parties will pay attention to the pace of reforms in Ukraine as a component of political dialogue and cooperation.

The Council will also discuss the fight against corruption, the judicial system reform and the process of restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In addition, the agenda of the meeting includes issues of the economic situation in Ukraine and cooperation in the areas of finance, energy, health and education.
