Volker to hold one more meeting with Surkov - Klimkin

U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker will continue talks with Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov on resolving the conflict in Donbas and plans soon to hold another meeting with him.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin told this to journalists on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Kurt [Volker] will continue these negotiations. One more meeting is scheduled in the near future. So far I cannot say when. We are in close coordination, so I can say that we will continue to exert pressure," Klimkin said.

He noted that the pause in negotiations would be used usefully.

"We have actually prepared our common vision. I am in constant contact with Kurt," the minister said.

According to him, it is important that Donbas gradually pass under international control, which will ensure the observance of security conditions, and then preparations for the elections will begin.

"Another option leads to the fact that the Russian protectorate will persist in Donbas, and this does not suit us or our friends," Klimkin said.
