Georgia Parliament Speaker: Kyiv, Tbilisi should use international platforms to protect common interests

Ukraine and Georgia, which have a long history of friendship and partnership, should use all possible platforms to protect common interests.

Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Irakli Kobakhidze said this during a meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.

Kobakhidze stressed during the meeting that Georgia supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine, condemns the annexation of Crimea and aggression against Ukraine. This geopolitical aspect is common to both states.

"Our common pain is the occupation of our territories. We also have a common course: the European integration and rapprochement with NATO. I think we should use all the platforms, primarily the international ones, to protect our common interests," Kobakhidze said.

The Head of the Government of Ukraine agreed with the interlocutor and added that the relations between the two countries are of a strategic nature, being "an essential foundation for deepening further relations."
