White Paper 2017: Australia will never recognize annexation of Crimea

Australia will resist the policy of the Kremlin in cases when it is inimical to global security and will not forget about the MH17 crash tragedy and the occupation of Crimea.

This is stated in the Australia Foreign Policy White Paper 2017, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Australia will work with partners to resist Russia’s conduct when it is inimical to global security. Australia remains particularly concerned by the downing of flight MH17 and Russia’s annexation of Crimea and intervention in eastern Ukraine," the document says.

The new White Paper also notes that Australia’s national interests are best advanced by an evolution of the international system that is anchored in international law, support for the rights and freedoms in United Nations declarations, and the principles of good governance, transparency and accountability.
