Law on making December 25 non-working holiday sent to president for signature

The law on making December 25 an official non-working holiday and canceling May 2 as a day off has been sent to the president for signature.

This has been posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

“The law on amendments to the Labor Code of Ukraine on holiday and non-working days was signed by the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada on November 21... On November 21, the law was sent for signature to the president,” reads the report.

As Ukrinform earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada on November 16 approved bill No.5496 on amendments to the Labor Code on holiday and non-working days. The bill envisages the recognition of December 25 an official day off in Ukraine. Also, the bill cancels the day off on May 2 so that not to increase the total number of non-working days in the country. So from now on, Ukrainians will mark Labor Day only one day, on May 1.
