Poland supports policy of sanctions against Russia - Witold Waszczykowski

Poland continues to support Ukraine in the international arena, in particular it condemns Moscow's aggression against Kyiv, Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski has said.

"Poland supports Ukraine at the political, diplomatic, military, economic levels and in the transformation of the country's way of life. An the international level, we have not supported and will not accept actions against Ukraine, annexation of Crimea or Russia's initiation of separatism in Ukraine," Waszczykowski said, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He added that the Polish assessment of the situation around the Russian-Ukrainian conflict had made a significant contribution at the EU level to keeping sanctions against Russia because of Moscow’s non-fulfillment of the Minsk agreements.

The Polish foreign minister also noted that Warsaw is actively working to suspend the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which Poland considers "a political initiative, a political tool that threatens the security of our region."
