Poroshenko welcomes UN decision on updated ‘Crimean’ resolution

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko welcomes a decision of the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly on updated draft of the resolution on the "Situation of human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Ukraine".

"I welcome a decision of the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly on the strengthened resolution on the situation of human rights in Crimea. I am grateful to the co-authors of the decision and to all our allies for the powerful signal to the Russian occupation authorities regarding the international unity and solidarity in the issue of Crimea's de-occupation," Poroshenko wrote on Facebook.

The Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural) approved an updated draft of the resolution on the "Situation of human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Ukraine" by a vote of 71 in favour to 25 against, with 77 abstentions.
