Iryna Herashchenko calls on Indonesia to support Ukraine's peacekeeping initiatives in the UN

First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Herashchenko met with a parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Indonesia.

During the meeting, she called on Indonesia to support Ukraine's initiatives in the UN on the deployment of a peacekeeping mission in occupied Donbas, Herashchenko wrote on her Facebook page.

"We discussed the inter-parliamentary dialogue, the intensification of cooperation in the field of economy and tourism, the possibility to simplify the visa regime for holders of Indonesian diplomatic passports. But the key topic of the meeting is the security and humanitarian situation in occupied Donbas and Crimea. I urged Indonesia to support Ukraine's initiatives in the UN on the deployment of a peacekeeping mission in occupied Donbas and resolutions on the human rights situation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea," Herashchenko wrote, commenting on a meeting with Indonesian colleagues.

The vice-speaker also informed foreign colleagues about the reasons for the boycott by the Ukrainian delegation of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in St. Petersburg. "We expect Russia to implement the Minsk agreements, return Crimea and Donbas, as well as the return of Russia itself to the legal field, and we will require this at all international levels," she stressed.
