Committee of Ministers of Council of Europe acknowledges Ukraine's progress in implementing reforms

The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe at a meeting on Tuesday has acknowledged Ukraine's progress in implementing decentralization, anti-corruption and judicial reforms.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has already welcomed this decision, an Ukrinform correspondent reports from Strasbourg.

"I welcome the decision of the Committee of Ministers on Ukraine. I am grateful for appreciation of the Ukrainian reforms and support in the fight against the aggression of the Russian Federation. The decision of the Council of Europe highlights the Russia's responsibility for the implementation of the Minsk accords, primarily for observance of ceasefire and withdrawal of troops," the Head of State wrote on Facebook.

As the agency found out, two countries did not support the corresponding decision of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe during the vote.

"Two countries voted against the decision. Russia and Armenia," a source in the Council of Europe told the agency.
