European Parliament expects reform progress from Ukraine

The European Parliament expects Ukraine to make progress in implementing a number of important reforms.

Chairman of the European Parliament's delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee Dariusz Rosati said this at the Ukrainian World Congress forum in Brussels on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I want to name the areas where the reforms are being delayed. These are judicial reform, anti-corruption institutional principles, in particular, the anti-corruption court, land reform, privatization of state-owned enterprises. These areas need progress. Otherwise, there will be no investments that are necessary for rapid development," the MEP said.

He added that the reform progress in these areas was ineffective.

At the same time, Rosati noted that the European Union should provide Ukraine with larger scope of security assistance, particularly, in the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

In turn, Head of "Support Group for Ukraine" at the European Commission Peter Wagner expressed the conviction that the international community, in particular the EU, should expand its assistance to Ukraine.
