Poll: Half of Ukrainians regard corruption as the most serious problem

Almost half of Ukrainians consider corruption to be the biggest problem in the country.

This was evidenced by the results of the poll, conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation. The results were presented by Foundation’s director Iryna Bekeshkina at the Ukrinform news agency.

"Almost half of the population of Ukraine (44%) regard corruption as the most serious problem in the country. Another 36% consider it to be quite serious. In addition, 90% of respondents, actually the entire population, believes corruption to be a widespread phenomenon in the country," Bekeshkina stressed.

The poll was conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation and the Ukrainian Sociology Service Company on September 18 - October 3, 2017. A total of 2,000 major respondents were interviewed throughout Ukraine (except for the occupied territories of Crimea and certain areas in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts).
