Foreign Minister Klimkin: Ukraine preparing new resolution on Crimea

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin states a draft of the new tough UN resolution on human rights violations in the occupied Crimea will be revealed on Tuesday, October 31.

He stated this at a joint briefing with Spanish Foreign Minister Alfonso Dastis in Kyiv on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Tomorrow we will come up with a new very strong and tough draft resolution on the human rights situation in the territory of the occupied Crimea," Klimkin said, adding that the purpose of a new resolution on human rights violations in the occupied Crimea is "not to repeat last year's successful experience but to promote a very strong resolution with unequivocal wording."

Ukrainian Foreign Minister noted that the draft resolution contains completely new provisions, in particular, a requirement for Russia to comply with previous decisions of the European Court of Human Rights as well as to provide access to the territory of the occupied Crimea for international organizations.
