Ukraine's ambassador to NATO: There's one ally whose behavior disturbs me

Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO Vadym Prystaiko and Hungary's permanent representative to NATO will discuss Budapest's attitude to the Euro-Atlantic integration of Kyiv against the background of statements by Hungarian politicians regarding their intention to block Ukraine's rapprochement with the EU.

Prystaiko stated this in an exclusive interview with an Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels.

"There is one particular ally whose behavior disturbs me. In particular, the issue concerns a statement made by the Hungarian foreign minister about the intention to block Ukraine in the European Union. I did not hear from the Hungarian minister about the position with respect to NATO," he said.

He said that he would meet with Hungary's ambassador to NATO on Monday.

"I hope that our Hungarian colleagues understand that raising bilateral issues at the level of such an important security organization as NATO is not entirely correct," the ambassador added.

As Ukrinform reported, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjarto said earlier that Budapest would block the European integration of Ukraine because of disagreement with the provisions of the law on education regarding the teaching of national minorities in their native languages.
