About 300 thousand Ukrainians used visa-free regime for 4 months – Slobodyan

Almost 295 thousand Ukrainians already took advantage of the visa-free regime with the European Union for four months and one week.

Spokesman of the State Border Service of Ukraine Oleh Slobodyan said this in the air of Radio Liberty on Thursday.

He advises all users of the visa-free regime not to rely solely on a biometric passport, because at the request of border guards, travelers should provide proof of the purpose of their trip and prove their solvency.

"I would advise two things: firstly, to study in detail all the necessary documents needed for a visit to a foreign country; secondly, to learn the rules of conduct in this state, not to violate the law, and if citizens are going to travel with children, do not forget that minors also need to have a biometric passport," Slobodyan said.

According to him, from the beginning of the autumn the number of Ukrainians traveling to the European Union has decreased by 30-40%.

Earlier, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman stated that Ukrainians had taken advantage of the visa-free regime during their travel to the European Union 7.5 million times.

As Ukrinform reported, the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the European Union entered into force on June 11.
