PM Groysman assures that President Poroshenko will sign pension reform until October 9

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman says that President Petro Poroshenko will sign the law on pension reform until Monday, October 9.

"The president will sign the law until Monday," Groysman said at a meeting in Kyiv on October 5, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, the signing of the law will give an opportunity to start paying off raised pensions as early as next week.

As Ukrinform earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada on October 3 approved the bill on pension reform at second reading. A total of 288 MPs, more than the 226-majority vote required, backed the law. In particular, the bill envisages the recalculation of pensions from October 2017 and an increase in the minimum period of pensionable service from 15 to 25 years from January 1, 2018.
