Presidents of Ukraine, Turkey discuss ways to enhance strategic partnership

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the framework of the 72 session of the UN General Assembly.

This has been reported by the press service of the Head of State.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan confirmed Turkey’s unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

The Heads of State discussed preparations for the sixth session of the High-Level Strategic Council between Ukraine and Turkey that will take place in Kyiv.

Poroshenko and Erdoğan expressed content over significant progress in certain strategic vectors of interaction and noted willingness to make further efforts to enhance strategic partnership between the countries in practical scale.

The parties also discussed topical issues of multilateral agenda.

The Ukrainian President condemned Russia’s persecution of the Mejlis leaders, particularly Akhtem Chyigoz and Ilmi Umerov.
