UN peacekeepers should be deployed throughout entire occupied territory of Donbas – Ukrainian Foreign Minister

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has discussed with OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger the implementation of the Minsk agreements and political and diplomatic settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

As the Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry press service informs, the meeting was held within the framework of the general debate of the 72nd regular session of the UN General Assembly.

"The parties discussed the prospects for the deployment of UN peacekeeping operation on the territory of Ukraine. The Minister noted that such a mission should operate throughout the entire territory of the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, including along the temporarily uncontrolled part of the Ukrainian-Russian border," the statement reads.

Klimkin stated that ensuring constant monitoring of the Russian-Ukrainian border was an indispensable factor of the full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
