Klimkin discusses with Chinese counterpart cooperation within UN Security Council

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin during a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Wang Yi, discussed the issues of cooperation between the countries and Ukraine's initiative to deploy a UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported.

"The interlocutors discussed a number of issues on the agenda, in particular, the results of the meeting of the president of Ukraine and the president of the People's Republic of China in Davos in January, possible dates for the third meeting of the Commission for Cooperation between the Governments of Ukraine and China, prospects for expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, and cooperation within international organizations, including the interaction of the Ukrainian and Chinese delegations in the UN Security Council," the report reads.

During the meeting, the issue of promoting Ukraine’s initiative to deploy a UN peacekeeping operation in Donbas was also raised.
