Visit of U.S. Secretary of Energy to Ukraine postponed due to Hurricane Harvey – media

A visit of U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry to Ukraine, which was scheduled for August 29, has been postponed until November due to Hurricane Harvey.

This was reported by 112 Ukraina TV Channel with reference to the organizing committee of Naftogaz Ukrainy, which was preparing a presentation and discussion of Naftogaz's strategy, where Perry was supposed to be present.

"We decided to postpone a presentation and discussion of the strategy of Naftogaz scheduled for August 31 until November. We believe it is important to involve key international partners of Ukraine into the discussion at the highest possible level. However, due to Hurricane Harvey this week, the U.S. participants, including Secretary of Energy Rick Perry and CEO of Overseas Private Investment Corporation Ray W. Washburne, have been forced to dial back their plans and will not be able to visit Kyiv," the report reads.

As Ukrinform reported, a U.S. delegation led by Secretary of Energy Rick Perry was planned to arrive in Kyiv on August 29.
