Groysman expects parliament to adopt law on education in autumn

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman expects that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will pass the law on education in the autumn.

He said this at the All-Ukrainian Conference of Pedagogical Staff, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Unfortunately, we were not able to consider the bill on education in the Ukrainian parliament before the end of the session, but I deeply believe that this issue will be resolved in the autumn and the Verkhovna Rada will adopt this reform," Groysman said.

The prime minister notes that the authorities understand the extremely high role of education in the development of the country, and therefore they will do everything necessary to improve its condition in order to restore respect for a Ukrainian teacher and to raise wages for teachers.

Groysman also stresses that it is also necessary to provide a strong material and technical base for educational institutions. The issue of purchasing school buses and all necessary equipment remains open. UAH 209 million has been already allocated; a half of the funds has been already financed.
