Decentralization reform requires adoption of five more laws – Zubko

In Ukraine, there are already 30 laws on decentralization, but the parliament should adopt five more laws to promote the reform.

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing Hennadiy Zubko wrote this on his Facebook page after a meeting with Georg Milbradt, German government's special envoy for reforms.

"We separately discuss the legislative package on decentralization, which should be adopted in the parliament this autumn. In addition to 30 laws on decentralization that are already in force, it is necessary to take other five as soon as possible for further promotion of the reform," Zubko said.

According to the minister, they discussed the issues of monitoring the process of decentralization, the state of the reform, the prospects for further consolidation of territorial communities, as well as the reform of administrative and territorial division.

He adds that Germany is a reliable partner of Ukraine in implementing the decentralization and energy efficiency reforms, and he thanked Milbradt for his support.
