PM Groysman: Government against increase in gas tariffs

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is against a possible rise in gas prices for households.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated this in an interview with TV Channel 5, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The government doesn’t support raising gas prices for the population," Groysman stressed. He also specified that gas tariffs will remain within natural fluctuations depending on inflation processes as well, while prices for housing and utilities services will be set at the local level.

The prime minister also added that the country is getting ready for the winter period and accumulating needed reserves to enter the heating season 2017/2018.

As Ukrinform earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers on July 19 approved a financial plan of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, which envisages no rise in gas prices for the population.
