Presidents of Ukraine and Georgia visit demarcation line with occupied region of Tskhinvali region

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili visited the line of demarcation with the region of Tskhinvali occupied by Russia.

This has been reported by the press service of the Head of State.

Poroshenko has emphasized that Ukraine supports and does everything possible to ensure sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Georgia.

“It is important that we are here now. This is not a touch line. This is even not a line of occupation. This is an abyss between the past and the future,” Petro Poroshenko said in the joint comment to the media. He added that people found themselves behind the barbed wire. “This is the result of Russia’s policy,” the president noted.

President of Georgia emphasized that the Georgian authorities motivated people from the occupied territories to visit free Georgia where the level of life is much higher.
