Ukraine, Belarus have several promising directions for increasing investments and trade between countries – Zubko

Ukraine and Belarus have several promising directions for increasing investments and trade turnover between the countries, in particular, in the machine building and agricultural sectors and the production of petroleum products.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing of Ukraine Hennadiy Zubko said this during a meeting of the Ukraine-Belarus Intergovernmental Joint Commission.

"On the eve of the meeting of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in Ukraine, we held a joint meeting in terms of general economic issues. Thanks to the reforms implemented in Ukraine over the past three years, in particular, the reforms of decentralization and deregulation, the integration of Ukrainian transport routes into the European Union, there are opportunities to increase trade turnover between our countries," Zubko said.

The Vice Prime Minister notes that the trade turnover for the last period has already grown by 28% and amounts to 4 billion dollars.
