Poroshenko discusses with Georgian prime minister activity of newly created strategic council

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko holds talks with Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili, during which, in particular, the activity of the newly created Ukraine-Georgia High-Level Strategic Council was discussed.

This has been reported by the press service of the Head of State.

The parties noted the importance of developing cooperation in multilateral formats with a view to de-occupy the territories of Ukraine and Georgia.

They agreed to unite efforts on the implementation of strategic partnership between Ukraine and Georgia in the framework of the Declaration signed during the visit. They also discussed the activity of the newly established Ukraine-Georgia High-Level Strategic Council.

The Head of State and the Prime Minister of Georgia discussed sectoral cooperation, particularly in trade-economic sphere and noted the intention to increase trade turnover between the countries at least up to 1 billion dollars.

Poroshenko expressed gratitude to Georgia for its firm and comprehensive support and provision of humanitarian assistance in the rehabilitation of the Ukrainian servicemen and children affected by the hostilities in Donbas.
