Japan plans to provide Interior Ministry with additional assistance for reforms

Japan plans to provide the Interior Ministry of Ukraine with technical and financial assistance for the implementation of reforms.

Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov discussed this during a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine Mr Shigeki Sumi, the press service of the Internal Ministry reports.

"The Government of Japan has the opportunity to support the reforms of the Internal Ministry. In particular, this refers to new financial and technical assistance. During the meeting, the parties also discussed the results and prospects of the bilateral cooperation between the Internal Ministry of Ukraine and Japan," the report said.

The sides also discussed military actions in the east of Ukraine and agreed to pay a joint working trip to that region and visit police units.
