Speaker Parubiy: Bill on separate districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions to be completed in coming weeks

The special parliamentary group in the coming weeks will complete the development of a bill on the reintegration of separate districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which will allow Ukraine to move to a new format of protecting its eastern territories.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy stated this, TV Channel 5 reports.

According to the speaker, there is no full text of the document yet but the special parliamentary group has already decided on its key provisions.

"Today, discussion and consideration are still taking place. I believe that we will be able to complete the bill until the end of the last plenary week. I will remind you of its key provision: the establishment of a single operational headquarters for administrating both the military and the civil and military administrations. It envisages the format of conducting all military actions, by preserving all democratic procedures, such a format which currently the law on martial law prevents us to carry out," Parubiy said.

As earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada during the current session will have another plenary week, from July 11 till July 14, after which MPs will go on vacation.
