Prime Minister of Poland: We need to think about strengthening of sanctions against Russia

Poland stands for the extension of sanctions against Russia and for their strengthening if it is necessary.

Prime Minister of Poland Beata Szydło said this after the EU summit in Brussels, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"The most important decision that we have adopted is the extension of sanctions [against Russia]. This shows that the European Union is determined to ensure that the provisions of the Minsk agreements are implemented," Szydło said.

According to her, Poland stressed at the summit that sanctions must remain in force until the fulfillment of the Minsk accords by Russia.

As Ukrinform reported, the EU leaders agreed on June 22 to decide on the extension of economic sanctions against Russia, imposed because of the aggression against Ukraine.
