Berlin hopes that law on reintegration of Donbas will contribute to settlement of conflict

Berlin welcomes all initiatives that contribute to the peaceful resolution of the conflict in the east of Ukraine and hopes that the law on reintegration of Donbas that is being developed in Kyiv will meet the Minsk accords.

German Foreign Ministry Spokesman Martin Schaefer said this at a briefing in Berlin on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"If a law is needed for this [peaceful resolution of the conflict] from the point of view of the Ukrainian president and the Ukrainian state, then it can be. We would like to wish that this law meets the Minsk agreements," Schaefer said.

He reminded that both mediators in the negotiations with Ukraine - Germany and France - welcome everything that contributes to the peaceful settlement of the conflict, which daily affects five million people.
