More than 20,000 Ukrainians already used the right to visa-free travel to EU countries - State Border Service

As of June 19, more than 20,000 Ukrainians already used the right to visa-free travel to the countries of the European Union.

This has been reported by the press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

"As of 6:00 on June 19, more than half a million Ukrainian citizens crossed the border with EU countries since the visa-free travel regime took effect. During the trip, over 100,000 Ukrainians used biometric passports. 21,200 of them used the right to visa-free trips and crossed the border only with a biometric passport," the report said.

The border guards note that during the weekend the number of citizens who traveled to the European countries within the framework of visa-free travel significantly increased.

At the same time, according to the State Border Service of Ukraine, since the beginning of introduction of the visa-free travel 26 citizens of Ukraine were refused to cross the state border with EU countries.

As reported, the visa-free regime of Ukraine with the EU countries came into operation on June 11, 2017.
