Japan working on abolishing visas for Ukrainians - MP

The Cabinet of Ministers of Japan has begun work on the issue of abolishing visas for Ukrainians.

MP, Co-chairman of the Group for Inter-Parliamentary Relations with Japan Leonid Yemets informed this on Facebook.

"The Cabinet of Ministers of Japan began work on the issue of abolishing visas for Ukrainians. The parliaments promised to help in every possible way," Yemets wrote, commenting on, in particular, the results of the meeting of the delegation of the Ukraine-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group with the Japanese foreign minister, the chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense of the Chamber of Advisors to the Parliament of Japan, and the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan.

At the same time, Yemets has added that it is too early to speak about the terms of Japan's introduction of a visa-free regime for Ukraine. "But we are working so that the Ukrainian citizens will be able to go to the Olympic Games in Tokyo (2020) without visas," he added.
