Volodymyr Groysman, Rudolph Giuliani discuss progress of reforms in Ukraine

Ukraine is grateful to the Government and people of the United States of America for consistent support in the struggle for sovereignty and implementation of internal reforms.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this at a meeting with former New York mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, who serves now as a special adviser on cybersecurity to US President Donald Trump, the Governmental portal reports.

"Today we are experiencing difficult times of the formation of our state, and the role of the United States of America in the modern history of our country is truly significant. We are interested in deepening our political and economic cooperation. We have enormous opportunities and we hope that these relations will bring good results," Groysman noted.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine told about the situation in Ukraine in the context of opposing the Russian military, economic and information aggression, and also informed about the latest government actions aimed at stabilizing the economy of the state. In particular, Groysman told about stimulating economic growth, launching a number of important reforms in tackling corruption, the judiciary and decentralization reforms, as well as refusal of Russian gas supplies. As noted by the Head of Government, the reforms in the healthcare system, the pension system and privatization are on the agenda of the Government of Ukraine.

In turn, Rudolph Giuliani said the US leadership supported Ukraine in its struggle "for freedom and independence."
