President approves NATO-Ukraine cooperation program for 2017

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the decree on approval of the annual national program under the auspices of the Ukraine-NATO Commission for 2017.

This is reported by the press service of the Head of State.

"The program for 2017 has been substantially updated and improved. The document was prepared in accordance with the new procedure for elaboration of the annual national Ukraine-NATO cooperation programs and assessment of the results of their implementation, which was approved by the President of Ukraine on December 7, 2016," the statement reads.

As noted, the program includes measures for conducting reforms in all the important areas of state functioning: from the security and defense sector to key socio-political and legal reforms, fighting corruption and decentralization. The aim of these reforms is to bring Ukraine closer to the NATO standards.
