Ukraine’s Central Election Commission: No conditions for holding elections in Donbas

Currently, there are no conditions for holding elections in the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions in eastern Ukraine.

This was stated by Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine (CEC) Mykhailo Okhendovsky at the international conference in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I must say that the Central Election Commission now does not see any proper conditions for holding elections on the temporarily uncontrolled territories in eastern Ukraine," he said.

At the same time, Okhendovsky noted that as soon as the relevant conditions were created, the CEC would be ready to take part in organizing any electoral processes in those territories.
