Head of Presidential Administration, British Ambassador agree on need for continued anti-Russian sanctions

Head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine Ihor Rainin has met with Ambassador of the Great Britain to Ukraine Judith Gough.

This was posted on the official website of the President of Ukraine.

"The Head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine has thanked for the unwavering position of the United Kingdom to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, in particular in the issue of conservation of sanctions against Russia in response to the ongoing aggression," the statement reads.

The meeting participants expressed confidence that sanctions against Russia should be maintained until sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine are fully restored and Crimea is returned.

Ambassador Gough noted that her country's position with respect to support for Ukraine, in particular within the European Union, remained unchanged.

In turn, Rainin praised the UK’s contribution to the training of Ukrainian servicepersons and expressed hope for deepening of cooperation in this area.

The parties also discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation, primarily the intensification of trade and economic cooperation.
