European Parliament’s vote on visa-free travel for Ukrainians not postponed until April – EP’s press officer

The European Parliament has not postponed the vote on visa liberalization for Ukraine until April.

Maud Noyon, the press officer of the European Parliament, said this in a commentary to Kyiv Post.

Yesterday, the date of April 3 appeared on the Parliament’s official website as an indicative date for EU approval of visa-free travel for Ukrainians.

However, the date was put there by mistake and will be removed, according to Noyon.

“On Dec. 15, the European Parliament voted for the visa suspension mechanism for third countries, thus removing the last obstacle for the visa-free travel. Now, the ratification meeting must be held “in short terms,” Noyon told the Kyiv Post.

She added that the exact date had been determined yet.
