Ukraine’s Vice PM, Head of EU Delegation discuss visa-free regime, energy reform

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion discussed with Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli the issue of visa-free regime and the reform of the Ukrainian energy sector.

This is reported by the Government portal.

"The parties discussed a number of topical issues, in particular, granting visa-free regime, reforms in the Ukrainian energy sector, and others," the statement reads.

Kistion noted that Ukraine had fulfilled all the obligations for cancellation of the visa regime and expected the EU to make a positive decision in the near future.

Mingarelli agreed that it was now turn of the European side to comply with its obligations and assured that he would make every effort to speed up the process.

In addition, the European official confirmed that cooperation in the energy sector remained one of the main directions in cooperation between Ukraine and the EU for the past 25 years. European partners will continue to make the necessary steps to ensure that Ukraine remains an important partner in the transportation of natural gas to Europe, Mingarelli noted.
