Preservation of Crimea’s blockade is important step for de-occupation of peninsula – Speaker Parubiy

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy at a meeting with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for the preservation of the blockade of Crimea as one of the important stages of de-occupation of the peninsula.

"Today, I held a constructive and strategic meeting with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul. We discussed the issues of economic, military and defense cooperation between our countries. I stressed the need to preserve the blockade of Crimea as one of the important stages of the international support for Ukraine and de-occupation of the peninsula," the head of the Ukrainian parliament said.

In addition, according to the speaker, the parties discussed positions of the Crimean Tatar people in occupied Crimea and support for the Crimean Tatars on the international arena.

"Turkey is a strategic partner of Ukraine," Parubiy said.
