"Crimean resolution" of the UN to help Ukraine in international courts – Chubarov

Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov is convinced that the UN resolution on human rights in Crimea will become another tool for the Ukrainians in the issue on prolongation of sanctions against the Russian Federation and their extension.

He expressed such opinion in the comments to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The resolution will help us to uphold the extension of sanctions. The resolution will allow us trying to demand from the specialized structures of international organizations, particularly the UN and the OSCE, to send the monitoring mission to the Crimean territory that is temporarily occupied by Russia. We can insist on other sanctions against Russia, including in the international courts," Chubarov said.

The MP has stressed that the UN resolution is extremely important now, given the results of the elections in Moldova, Bulgaria and the United States, as it confirms the validity of Ukraine’s position in the fight against Russia for the restoration of its territorial integrity.
