President, EU leaders discuss EU-Ukraine Association Agreement ratification

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held phone conversations with President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz and President of the European Council Donald Tusk and discussed, inter alia, ratification of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement ratification.

"In the framework of intensive consultation on the ratification of the Association Agreement, President Petro Poroshenko held two phone conversations – with President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz and President of the European Council Donald Tusk. The parties coordinated the next steps and agreed to continue active work to ensure ratification of the Association Agreement," the statement reads.

As noted, Martin Schulz and Donald Tusk congratulated the Ukrainian President on successful completion of the first phase of e-declaration within the framework of the newly established system of preventing corruption.

The interlocutors agreed to intensify efforts for granting the visa-free regime for Ukrainians.

President Poroshenko congratulated the EU on signing the Free Trade Area Agreement between Canada and the European Union.

The parties also exchanged views on the results of the first round of presidential elections in Moldova.
