German Foreign Ministry sees no point in extending Normandy format

Berlin is ready to welcome any format that will help put an end to the conflict in and around Ukraine but currently sees no need in that.

German Foreign Ministry Spokesman Martin Schaefer said this at the briefing on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent in Germany reports.

"From the point of view of the federal government, there is no need to change the format until we leave hope for the opportunity to receive concrete steps in implementing the Minsk agreements within the Normandy format," Schaefer said.

According to him, the German government believes that "we are talking about the content, not the format."
