Senate of Czech Republic calls on Russia to stop supporting militants in Donbas

The upper house (Senate) of the Parliament of the Czech Republic has adopted the resolution, calling on Russia to stop supporting militants and urging resumption of Ukraine’s control over the border.

First Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Gerashchenko posted this on her Facebook page.

"Good news from the Czech Republic! Today, the upper house of the Parliament (Senate) has adopted the resolution on the situation in Ukraine, having expressed concern about the intensification of attacks in Donbas. The key moment is that the Senate called on Russia to stop support militants and stressed the need for resumption of Ukraine’s control over the border. The resolution was supported by 45 senators out of 63 present," she wrote.

Gerashchenko thanked the Senate of the Czech Republic, saying "it is extremely important that the assessment of Russian activities in Donbas is changing even in the countries which traditionally support Moscow."
